The 21st century is when it everything changes.

Torchwood, outside the government and beyond the place, has the job of arming the human race against the future. They suffered heavy losses during the battle of Canary Wharf, but they're working to rebuild. Torchwood is becoming bigger and, theoretically, stronger.

Chantho is the last of an insectoid race known as the Malmooth, and a native of the planet Malcassairo. She was a devoted assistant to the scientist Professor Yana, working along side him faithfully for 17 years before the arrival of the mysterious traveller known as the Doctor.

The arrival of the Doctor allowed the Professor to discover his true identity – the meglomanic Time Lord known as the Master. As Yana turned on the Doctor and his companions, Chantho threatened to kill him. He electrocuted her, but she was able to shoot him first, forcing him to regenerate.

Rather than dying, however, Chantho found herself tumbling through the Rift and arriving in Cardiff.

Although she has very hazy memories of what happened to her, and is finding it difficult to survive in such a strange time period, Chantho is a quick learner, ready to do whatever she can to help the Doctor and her new friends. If she can find the Professor along the way, then so much the better.
